The Discipleship Training School (DTS) an opportunity to take the leap into a deeper, more dynamic relationship with God. The school will equip and challenge you to be a part of the great commission. The DTS is designed for young people who want to get involved in missions – if you feel a calling to the nations, or even to the people of your home town – this is the school for you.

The first stage bring you into the vibrant YWAM community here at Harpenden. Your focus will be daily teaching times from international speakers and YWAM leaders, but you will also have the opportunity to participate in the life and ministry that goes on at this diverse YWAM centre, directly applying the things you are learning in a practical way. Topics such as the Father-Heart of God, your identity in Christ, Biblical worldviews, and more will be explored in lectures, small group times and personal devotion, with intercession and worship throughout.

This time is a great time to forge deep friendships with the other students and staff as you learn and grow together. Many students use the weekends to see a bit more of England. With Harpenden being just 30 minutes from London on the train, it is a great place to go and soak up the sights and atmosphere of one the most influential cities in the world.

The second stage consists of an outreach phase, taking the school to another location for first hand experience of how you can be involved in transforming the nations. Previous outreach teams have gone to the UK, Tanzania, Kenya, Russia, Portugal and Argentina to name a few! You may be involved with local YWAM operating locations or church ministries, to serve in practical ways, as well as taking part in a variety of evangelism opportunities.

The DTS at YWAM Harpenden is made up of people from many cultures, church denominations and backgrounds. We seek to learn from one another to become all that God wants us to be. It’s a life-transforming experience which will infuse you with passion for Jesus, expose you to more opportunities to serve Him than you ever dreamed possible and equip you to transform the world you live in.
