The National Office
The National Office at YWAM Harpenden
- Office of the national director — oversees the work of the National Office, leads and directs in national projects and initiatives, and represents YWAM England in YWAM internationally and among church and world bodies, such as the United Nations;
- Accounts — collates all the bank accounts for all the different teams and centres countrywide, oversees accounts for any national project (such as the YWAM England ship, the Next Wave), and ensures that we are legal;
- Graphics — coordinates and produces all the national publicity and literature, including the YWAM England website (www.ywam-england.com), brochures, adverts, exhibition stands, prayer cards, and also helps with individual team and school projects, and fields all enquiries made to YWAM England;
- Pastoral care and staff development — helps to ensure that all our staff are well cared for before, during and after their time with YWAM England;
- Worship — coordinates and leads worship at YWAM England events and at YWAM centres around the country.
The National Office also houses several teams with national responsibilities:
- The United Nations team — since YWAM England has consultative status at the UN, the team represents the work and values of YWAM at UN meetings;
- The Beijing-to-London team — is organising and coordinating outreach efforts between the two Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008 and London in 2012;
- HIV/AIDS team — organises and coordinates YWAM’s response internationally to the HIV/AIDS pandemic, putting together conferences for and facilitating communication among YWAM HIV/AIDS workers worldwide.
