Author’s Training School
July 2 to Sept. 25 in Harpenden, England

Work on the writing project that God is birthing in and through you! Learn the basics of writing and specifically, writing for publication, from accomplished Christian authors who have labored with God to see numerous books produced.
If you believe you have a message and a mandate from God to write a book, or another publishing project, then we can help you! The Author’s Training School (ATS) is designed to give aspiring writers the instruction and focused time they need to get their writing projects off the ground. Although many people feel called to write, most novice writers feel overwhelmed with the idea of actually doing it. With the proper education, encouragement and inspiration, it is truly possible to complete any project God has called you to do.
Let us help you finish the book that God has placed on your heart to write and publish.
The school will blend intensive teaching weeks with hands-on writing time, regular critique groups and marketing help. Award-winning authors and publishing professsionals will teach in various weeks of the school. Note: A limited number of outside students may be accepted during some of the teaching weeks as seminar students by making special arrangements with the school leader.
One primary goal of the ATS is to see students complete and mail polished book proposals to publishers before the end of the course. Thus, the third month will cover specialized topics such as marketing and meeting with publishers even while the students continue their writing. The school will also address other practical issues geared towards equipping students to complete their writing projects following completion of the school.
Prerequisites
Completion of a Discipleship Training School (DTS) and Field Assignment (IDS 701/702) or Crossroads Discipleship Training School and Field Assignment (IDS 703/704) is required. No prerequisite is required for seminar/workshop participants.
Credits
Twelve (12) semester-equivalent credits will be earned upon successful completion of the Authors Training School (COM 380). These credits may be applied to a UofN degree program or in some cases, transferred to another college or university.
