HOSPITALITY SEMINAR

Transform the way you serve.

This course is part of the College of Arts & Sports from the University of the Nations Colleges and Centres.

Entertaining seeks to impress people. But true hospitality seeks to bless people.

In this seminar, transform the way you approach spiritual and practical hospitality. Whether in ministry or in your home, it can be easy to start serving out of routine.

But we believe it is important to open our hearts, homes, and ministry centers to serve and honor one another. This is not an act of social protocol—but an expression of generosity.

In Youth With A Mission, practising hospitality is one of our key foundational values. It’s not just folding napkins, and it’s not just for women! It’s a shift in mindset from impressing others, to deeply impacting their hearts. But it starts with you.

Starting with the Biblical understanding of hospitality, this seminar is a balance between teaching, practical skills, spiritual development. Overcome the fear of inadequacy or the tendency to hold back. Instead—be refreshed and equipped to transform the way you serve.

STORIES

The hospitality seminar has changed my life. I thought I knew a lot about hospitality until I came to this seminar. I now have much more understanding of the power of hospitality and the importance of making it a lifestyle. It has made me more passionate about sacrificing time and convenience for others knowing how it blesses our Father and that it leads people to Him.

— Camilla Højgaard (YWAM Denmark)

I had always had a heart for hospitality and for inviting others in, creating, making home or gatherings special for people to feel cherished and loved. But I had always thought of hospitality as a lesser gift or something extra. As I went through the course and the different speakers began to highlight hospitality in the Bible, I realized how much God really does value the gift of hospitality.

— Jess Dill (YWAM Harpenden)

As a long-term YWAMer I was very familiar with hospitality since it is one of main values of YWAM. But during the week I learned more about the spiritual aspect of hospitality. And that was an eye-opener and it also motivated me to see and practice it from this viewpoint.  It is not about opening your home but also your heart and value the other person and by doing so honoring God in them.

— Karin Weber (YWAM Heidebeek)

As a young man, it was easy to think that hospitality was ‘not for me.’ But the Hospitality Seminar helped correct many misconceptions I had about it, like that showing exceptional hospitality is only for a certain kind of person. I now know that showing hospitality is the role of anyone who wants to look like Jesus! This paradigm shift has impacted every area of my life—from my role as a husband to my role as a campus leader.

— Connor Doll (YWAM Harpenden)
